About

I’m a multidisciplinary artist and social orchestrator. I like to make meeting places: for me, art is a framework that serves to gather people who might not otherwise be in a room together.
As a director, I work with writers, performers, musicians, choreographers, visual artists, and non-professionals to collaboratively make live experiences. My work has taken me across my home country of Canada and beyond, to contexts including The National Arts Centre (Ottawa), The Aga Khan Museum (Toronto), Festival Internacional Cervantino (Mexico), The Edinburgh International Festival (Scotland), The Belfast International Arts Festival (Northern Ireland), and Theater der Welt (Germany). Some past co-creation projects include Love You Wrong Time, Kiinalik: These Sharp Tools and Concord Floral.
My debut novel These Songs I Know By Heart was published by Book*hug in 2024. It’s available wherever books are sold in North America and online everywhere. Before that, I published the poetry collection In the small hours with Gaspereau Press. I’m also the co-author of the performance text/ travel memoire, 7th Cousins: An Automythography published by Book*hug in 2019, and have collaborated on several plays published by Playwrights Canada Press. I’ve participated in commissioning programs and artist residencies including the Banff Playwrights Lab (Canada) and LIFT’s Concept Touring (UK).
I have an MA International Performance Research, jointly from University of Warwick and University of Amsterdam, where my research was rooted in making invitations to strangers. I’m currently doing practice-based doctoral work at Toronto Metropolitan University. I’ve lived in many cities and a few towns, but Tkaronto is my home.
